ABSTRACT Female composers occupy and important visible place in Poland’s contemporary musical culture, which they co-create thanks to their versatile activity (creative, organisational, didactic). W and Z Physics

The electroweak theory elegantly combines the electromagnetic and weak forces, explaining a wide range of interactions using a gauge theory with just three parameters. The theory predicted the W and Z weak gauge bosons before they were directly observed in 1983, and its detailed predictions of W and Z boson properties have been tested to such precision that they now serve as probes for new part...

Watermarking embeds a secret message into a cover message. In media watermarking the secret is usually a copyright notice and the cover a digital image. Watermarking an object discourages intellectual property theft, or when such theft has occurred, allows us to prove ownership. The Software Watermarking problem can be described as follows. Embed a structure W into a program P such that: W can ...

Extending W for Object-Z

This paper presents a logic for Object-Z which extends W, the logic for Z adopted as the basis of the deductive system in the Z Base Standard. The logic provides a basis on which tool support for reasoning about Object-Z speciications can be developed. It also formalises the intended meaning of Object-Z constructs and hence provides an abstract, axiomatic semantics of the language.

Hydrophilic Surface Modification of PDMS Microchannel for O/W and W/O/W Emulsions

A surface modification method for bonded polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) microchannels is presented herein. Polymerization of acrylic acid was performed on the surface of a microchannel using an inline atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier microplasma technique. The surface treatment changes the wettability of the microchannel from hydrophobic to hydrophilic. This is a challenging task due to the...

W/Z + Light Flavor Jets and W/Z + Heavy Flavor Jets at the Tevatron

Collider signatures containing bosons and jets are particularly interesting. Recent theoretical effort has been devoted to determining predictions of W/Z + multiple parton production; the high statistics sample of W/Z + jets events collected at the Tevatron is a valuable testbed for probing the validity of these calculations. The final state containing a Z or W boson and one or more b-jets is a...
